Whether your utility is looking for assistance for your existing staff or a more comprehensive solution, Efficiency Services Group (ESG) is an experienced and reliable partner. For almost 25 years, ESG has specialized in helping small to mid-sized utilities offer energy efficiency programs and services to their customers.

ESG started as the energy efficiency arm of Portland General Electric, an investor-owned utility in Portland, Oregon. In 2005, ESG became an independent entity, led by Mark Gosvener, Jim Brands and Ted Haskell.

Today, nearly 40 western utilities retain ESG to manage or assist with their energy efficiency and renewable programs. ESG works with electric and gas utilities, municipal governments, electric cooperatives and public utility districts, or directly with utility end-use customers.

ESG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ruralite Services, a utility communications cooperative.

ESG provides:

  • Consulting Services
  • Contract Installation
  • Legislative Compliance
  • Program Development
  • Program Implementation
  • Program Management
  • Program Reporting
  • Program and/or Budget Tracking

Theresa Phillips

“As a smaller utility with limited staff and resources, ESG makes life easier by alleviating the stress of making sure our programs are meeting our customers’ needs — while complying with state and federal mandates. With the ever-changing energy efficiency landscape, I trust that ESG will not let LMUD fall behind. Our customers love the special treatment they receive from the ESG staff.”
